In seasons 1-8, the shippers make bids on two of the shipments listed on uShip, in an auction-style reverse. Bids are generally made with remarks about the probable costs and risks and the motivations and skills. The task is typically assigned to the bidder who has the lowest amount when the auction is over. But, at the discretion of the client it could be assigned to a more competitive bidder who has a better rating in feedback from previous clients. To break any ties, feedback ratings are applied. Season 9 is when shippers are receiving their loads from a shipping agency. The bidding process isn’t shown. Shippers load their cargo and try to deliver the cargo in good condition by the deadline given by the client or receiver. After the load is delivered, clients leave feedback ratings. Every shipper's earnings, as well as the expenses (fuel labor, late delivery penalties) will be displayed on the screen at the end. The bid amount is subtracted to determine the total profit and loss. Sometimes, shippers may arrange to transport one or more additional loads during the same trip with the extra money figured into their total. Sometimes, a shipper might not be able to complete a job because of concerns regarding the weight of the load and road safety. The shipper could hire an additional person to help with the task. Once the project is done, the shippers decide how to split the proceeds. In seasons 1-8 the process of each shipment is interspersed with funny criticisms from other shippers.
