Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making the actress second at the age of 11 in Oscar history. They moved with their family into New Zealand when she was a small child and she was raised in New Zealand. After she responded to an open casting call, she won the role in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who relocates to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. The actress was just nine years old and did not have any acting experience. When she was a teen, she moved from New Zealand to United States. Paquin had a small part in the film's title role when she was just a young girl in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin performed the role of Frankie Addams in a 1997 television film adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and played the role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She also played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) as well as Almost Famous (2000). She also played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
