Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, as well as the proprietor of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Her move to Greece to England at the age of 16 and earned an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. In her 21st year, she was head of the famous debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become an influential voice for the Huffington Post. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to share their opinions on politics news and culture. Arianna became famous after she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent candidate in the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on their list of the Top Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their top 100 list in the year 2010. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalist and management consultants. While she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom shaped the rest of her life. Through her early times, she demonstrated leadership skills for which her name is still well-known. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third female to be elected president. In 1972, she earned a master's degree in Economics. She became a writer, a critic as well as a host on TV and columnist upon her graduation. She also appeared in the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from him.
