Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with twelve other kids. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before learning how to write and read, Dolly Parton was creating her own songs. The first guitar she received was gifted to her at the age of eight. She began singing in the Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. In the same year, she recorded her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Even though she was still in school, she had established a name for herself within the local arena. But her dream was to be able to perform at a much larger size. After graduating from high school in 1964, she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting to RCA Records. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton composed "I I Will Never Forget You" in support of Wagoner just after the pair split. The track hit No. For the first time, in 1974.
